Acessibilidade aos serviços de saúde das Pessoas com Deficiência contempladas pelo Benefício de Prestação Continuada - BPC

Abstract

This paper aimed to analyze the healthcare access of people with disabilities who receive “Benefício de Prestação Continuada” (BPC) and the social interferences in the process. It is necessary to state that healthcare policies and assistance have many settings, to grant protection to vulnerable citizens. To achieve the aimed objectives, research was conducted having BPC users as subjects. Data of BPC users with disabities were collected from Fundação Municipal de Assistencia Social (FASPG). In the research process, four questionnaires and a personal report were conducted. Research was conducted from July to September 2023. The researcher crossed different parts of the city of Ponta Grossa to interview twenty subjects. It was possible to identify several situations of lack of assistance, resulting in failure of granting little life standards. This paper was divided in two main chapters, in non-conventional model. The first article is a review with considerations on BPC. The second article describes an analysis of healthcare accessibility of people with disabilities who are also users of BPC, based on data collected in the interviews conducted. Therefore, it was possible to observe that healthcare policies advance still does not meet the needs of citizens, especially those in social vulnerability.
