Abstract
The present work is based on investigation, since the preparation step to application, one of the carbon allotropes: the quantum dots (CQD). Many properties are observed in these materials, for example: high electronic mobility, excellent thermal conductivity, in addition to optical properties, as luminescent effect. The production via electrochemical exfoliation was choose to be used because it presents advantages in sustainability and economy. Graphite form exhausted batteries were submitted to 0.1
mA; 0.5 mA; 1.0 mA and 1.5 mA currents. One of those alternatives to improve the optical properties is the chemical reaction with heteroatoms, and its structural insertion. That way, were realized reactions with N,N-dimethyformamide (DMF) in different proportions promoting the CQD doping with nitrogen atoms. The modified particles were characterized via structural, morphological and spectroscopic techniques. The prepared CQD were applied in production of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell, trying to
understand the material influence in the photovoltaic device.
