| dc.description.abstract | We investigated networks composed of neurons described by the Hodgkin-Huxley neuronal model with the addition of slow potassium currents proposed by Yamada, Koch, and Adams. These currents are responsible for adapting the neuronal firing frequency as their potassium conductance increases. Furthermore, non-local coupling was used to promote interaction between the elements of the neuronal network, acting as excitatory synapses, while the intensity of this coupling regulates the excitability that a neuron produces in its neighbors. The networks were simulated using NEURON and NetPyNE, and the metrics used to establish differences between network states included local and global order parameters, firing frequency, coefficient of variation of the interval between neuronal firings, and the count of incoherent neurons. Under certain parameters, we observed the emergence of coherent dynamic states, chimeras, and incoherent states of these structures as the synaptic coupling radius, excitatory conductance of neurons in the network, and applied external current increase. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.resumo | Investigamos redes compostas por neurônios descritos pelo modelo neuronal de Hodgkin-Huxley com a adição de correntes de potássio lentas propostas por Yamada, Koch e Adams. Essas correntes são responsáveis pela adaptação da frequência de disparo neuronal à medida que sua condutância de potássio aumenta. Além disso, o acoplamento não local foi utilizado para promover a interação entre os elementos da rede neuronal, atuando como sinapses excitatórias, enquanto a intensidade desse acoplamento regula a excitabilidade que um neurônio produz em seus vizinhos. As redes foram simuladas usando NEURON e NetPyNE, e as métricas utilizadas para estabelecer diferenças entre os estados da rede incluíram parâmetros locais e globais de ordem, frequência de disparo, coeficiente de variação do intervalo entre os disparos neuronais e a contagem de neurônios incoerentes. Sob certos parâmetros, observamos o surgimento de estados dinâmicos coerentes, quimeras e incoerentes dessas estruturas à medida que o raio de acoplamento sináptico, a condutância excitatória dos neurônios na rede e a corrente externa aplicada aumentam. | pt_BR |
