Violência contra jornalistas: características e manifestações a partir dos relatórios da FENAJ no período 2012 - 2020.

Abstract

The present study sought to investigate whether the violence committed against journalists in Brazil between 2012 and 2020 can be considered as a specific manifestation of the phenomenon. To this end, the investigation focused on the violence materialized through the reports of violence against journalists of the National Federation of Journalists (Fenaj). Making use of document analysis and through an effort to systematize the information, we arrived at an analytical matrix that allowed us to characterize and classify the manifestations of violence in eight typical situations. The research also revealed the existence of patterns in acts of violence, also revealing a scenario of transformation from 2018 in the country. The research also ensured the verification of indications that the incidence of new forms of violence forges changes in protocols for the fulfillment of journalistic tasks, in addition to attesting to the influence of the coverage context for a greater or lesser exposure of journalists to risks.
