Abstract

This work aims to stimulate and enhance usage of new active methodologies, through pedagogical teaching proposals with the Kahoot! application and with Hybrid Teaching. Growth in usage of digital technologies mainly due higher accessibility of Internet, brought a relevant concern of teachers related to their impact on teaching process as well on student evaluation process. Thus, especially after the fact that schools around the world had to adapt to Emergency Remote Education, the use of Hybrid Education has been discussed for a possible return to classes, which in short combines presential and virtual teaching. Based on this perspective, we will explore the Kahoot! Application, an educational pedagogical tool that facilitates the teaching and learning process, which offers a gamified environment inside or outside classroom, through dynamic quizzes which offer immediate feedback over replies submitted. This feedback provides for teacher an opportunity to make a diagnostic and formative assessment, identifying main existing gaps around theme involved and allowing pedagogical interventions developing students’ autonomy and skills in monitoring and regulating their learning. Finally, it is described a teaching proposal using the Kahoot! emphasizing Hybrid Teaching and we report the experience obtained with this approach on students of the 3rd year of High School, on topics of Plane and Spatial Geometry.
