The Flipped Classroom (SAI) stimulates student autonomy by providing prior access to content in virtual learning environments and encourages the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies, thus enabling in-person and virtuais meetings. Therefore, the present research was established based on the implementation of the active learning methodology Flipped Classroom (SAI) in Higher Education. The present research aimed to identify the perceptions that undergraduate students have about SAI, as well as to understand the impacts and difficulties of implementing this methodology during their initial training. The nature of this research is qualitative, and the participants were third-year undergraduate students in the Biological Sciences program at the State University of Ponta Grossa. Data were collected during the development of the course “Teaching Laboratory V” and were gathered from the development of activities, categorization, and questionnaires, also characterizing it as a participatory research study, as it involved the researcher in all stages of the project. The data were organized and analyzed through Content Analysis, where we identified seven emerging categories. The results indicated that the SAI methodology was well accepted by the undergraduate students, stimulating autonomy, facilitating content comprehension, and increasing class engagement in practical and collaborative activities. Additionally, the main challenges found were related to preparation time and student participation. Thus, the study indicates that SAI is a promising methodology, well accepted by undergraduate students, and that it stimulates meaningful learning.
