Abstract
Current entomological studies require a large number of insects to be executed. The supply of this material is carried out through mass creations in the laboratory, which allow the obtaining of insects constantly, not depending on the seasonality, and with high quality. Feeding of these arthropods is usually done with an artificial diet, whose characteristics should allow a normal development of the insect, free of pathogens, and to this happening, anticontaminants in suitable concentrations are added to the diet. In addition to being used in mass production, diets also serve as substances carriers in bioassays and, therefore, their components should not impact their results. From the above, in the first chapter of this work will be studied concentrations of anticontaminants to rear Anticarsia gemmatalis and their impacts on bioassays of mortality of the same insect. From the results of the first chapter, a diet was selected to perform bioassays, whose objective was quantifying the Cry1Ac protein in Bt soybean leaflets, the theme of the second chapter. Such studies are important for the correct management of resistance, which is currently based on the adoption of high dose / refuge, that is high expression of insecticidal proteins by plants associated with refuge, and therefore know the expression capacity of each cultivar is important.
