Abstract

The present study aims to understand if women who use public transportation (buses) in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR have their right to the city affected as a result of sexual harassment. The discussion is made necessary by the constant cases of sexual harassment that women are facing within public transport, which causes the social right to transport and the right to come and go to be violated by a patriarchal system that places women in a vulnerable group of people when it comes to the right to the city, precisely because of sexual violence. In this sense, the general objective of the research is to understand how the issue of harassment is experienced in public transportation (bus) and if in any way can inhibit the right to the city for women in the urban space in Ponta Grossa - PR. The research aims to demonstrate through the data obtained, how harassment occurs and the perception of the participants about it. To carry out the fundamental part research was the construction of the theoretical referential, so. the bibliographic-documentary research provided the basics and information on the subject, later the research was done with a digital questionnaire made available in an Internet group of women from the city of Ponta Grossa that deal with sorority, this group will not be identified, respecting women who use this space and also through posters with QR Code (Biodimensional Code) made available in strategic locations, in the bus terminals, allowing an approximation with the theme. There was also a survey of denunciations and records concerning the law No. 13.718 on Sexual Impersonation in the women's police station; 13th Police and Municipal Guard. The company that performs the public transport in the city was asked if employees had a training / orientation / training when sexual harassment occurred in public transportation (buses). The research subjects are women over 18 who use or used public transportation in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR as harassment is a timeless phenomenon, occurring at various times in the life of a woman was not delimited a period of time . The instrument for data collection was used a questionnaire with open and closed questions. Finally, to analyze the data, the methodology used was content analysis, the research has a quantitative-qualitative character. The first chapter is addressed the historical process involves gender relations conceptualizing on gender violence and later notes on the sociology of the body. In the second chapter, it discusses the construction of cities with an emphasis on capitalism that accelerates the growth of urban centers by contextualizing how women establish a relationship with urban space and the struggle for the right to the city and the right to the body. The discussion has as its starting point the construction of a democratic state expansion and advances in legislation and public policies that ensure rights for women. In the third chapter is presenting data from the municipality of Ponta Grossa - PR. It will also be cross-checked the information obtained in the field you the bibliographic documentary information explored.
