Abstract
The Master’s research in Language Studies “BUILDING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HIV/AIDS CONTENT AND PREVENTION IN HIGH SCHOOL” was initial reflection of the persuasion in the informatives about HIV/AIDS, created by the significant increase in the index of soropositive young people registreted by the epidemiological bulletin of the Ministry of Health, published in 2014. This fact has generated interest in researching the effectiveness of the arguments used in the informative on HIV/AIDS for young public. According to Chaim Perelman, effective argumentation is one that uses "all that can influence behavior" (2014, p.9). The proposition is that this did not happen in this case, since the behavior of adolescents and young people apparently did not change about HIV / AIDS prevention. The research corpus is composed of the folder Fique Sabendo and the collection Health and Prevention in School (vol.4) distributed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. Two questionnaires were used for data generation and after analysis, one before to conducting the Health and Prevention in School workshops (vol.4) and one after. The questionnaires have objective and dissertative questions. The first was to get information about students' prior knowledge about HIV / AIDS, their opinion about informational and prevention campaigns. The second questionnaire aimed to assess whether, afte r the workshops, the knowledge and opinions of young people changed. The public participating in the research was composed of 41 second and third year high school students from a Basic Education School in Canoinhas – SC. In order to analyze the data, it was used as theoretical basis PERELMAN (2014); ARISTÓTELES (2013); CITELLI (2004); several articles, theses and dissertations dedicated to the topics addressed by this research. As for the methodology, it is quantitative, since statistical data of the answers are enumerated, as well as qualitative, as it seeks to understand and analyze certain behaviors, the opinion and the expectations of the students based on their answers to the questionnaires. This research is based on the qualitative-interpretative method based on quantitative data, since data were generated that sought to "account for the plurality of voices in action in the social world" (Moita Lopes, 1994, p.331). This dissertation aims to build knowledge about the thinking of the young people participating in the research about gthemselves, about the risk group, about the contagion and the prevention of HIV / AIDS; Through the activities planned, lead the students to build adequate and enough knowledge about the group of risk, contagion and prevention of HIV / AIDS; to identify, through analysis of the data generated, the reasons that the group of young people investigated, representing the adolescents and young people at risk of contracting HIV / AIDS, point out as potential
causes for the increase in the index of seropositives. The specific objectives are: based on the questionnaires made to the group of students researched, to determine if the workshops proposed by volume 4 of the Health and Prevention in the school collection have clear and sufficient information, as well as relevant strategies to inform and convince adolescents and young about risk groups, the means of contagion and the need for HIV / AIDS prevention; from the data obtained, after the completion of the two questionnaires, the workshops and the study of the To kmow folder, to identify the language that, from the point of view of the respondents, would be more effective in the information and campaigns for convincing adolescents and young people about their belonging to the group at risk, the forms of contagion and the importance of HIV / AIDS prevention.
